Free Public Online event – #psychweek

Tuesday 10 November, 8pm EADT / 5pm AWST

As part of Psychology Week 2020, the APS is hosting a free public online event on the topic of pain on Tuesday 10 November at 8pm AEDT / 5pm AWST.

Chronic pain is a common problem. Its impacts are not just physical. It also impacts on emotional, mental and social wellbeing – and its effects touch both the individual and those close to them.

Treating chronic pain often involves a team of health professionals, including psychologists working collaboratively. In fact, psychological treatments are one of the few evidence based treatments for pain.

APS psychologists and other experts, including a consumer representative who has direct experience in living with chronic pain, have come together to talk to Australians about pain and its treatment. You will have the chance to ask questions and will be given information on how to access psychological support.
