This Mental Health Awareness Month gives all Australians the opportunity to reflect on what we can do to support the people we care about, and what we are doing for ourselves when it comes to our mental health.
At the Black Dog Institute, they believe we can all take positive steps to create a mentally healthier world. That’s why they have come up with 10 different ways that you can take ACTION throughout October –

What are the actions all about?
These simple actions have something to suit everyone, so we encourage you to look through the list and pick out the ones that interest you.
- Fancy yourself creative? Get arty at the Big Anxiety Festival.
- Like to move your body? Get active at the Exercise Your Mood Walk.
- Thinking about your personal mental health? Get a check up on the Online Clinic.
- Feel like putting your hand up for research? Get on a trial with one of our Research Studies.
- Want to strengthen your resilience? Get mentally fit with our Mental Fitness Challenge.
There is no single path to creating a mentally healthier world, so it’s important to consider all of the ways that we can get there.
This October, make the most of your opportunity to take ACTION for mental health.
