I came across this website and wanted to share this wonderful resource with you.  Not only does it encourage people to talk about their situation, it enables others to benefit from their experiences.  The Mighty also works with non-profit organisations to encourage, drive awareness and fundraise to meet their goals.

Please take some time to read some of the heartfelt stories.  Follow this link to find an area close to you….http://themighty.com/all/

We created The Mighty to help people facing disability, disease, mental illness and chronic health conditions. We believe real stories from real people can be incredibly empowering.
One of our goals is to help non-profit organizations drive awareness and ultimately fundraise so they can accomplish their goals — research, family support, drug development, a cure — whatever those goals may be.
How do we do that? We’re an experienced group of editors from organizations like ABC News, NBC News, The New York Times, The Huffington Post and more. We work with contributors — often patient advocates — and leaders of non-profit organization to shape stories that will resonate with large audiences.
Our first 7,000 stories have been read by more than 90 million people. Our stories are now regularly picked up by many of the world’s largest media outlets, driving a tremendous amount of awareness. Just take a look at the experiences of these 10 contributors.
We’ve partnered with more than 300 organizations in various ways — collaborating on stories, featuring their representatives, promoting their resources — and they’ve helped us build a bigger platform with more contributors and more readers.
If this sounds interesting, please email our Partnership team (moc.ythgimeht@srentrap), who work their tails off to help people and organizations like you. We’d love to hear from you.
